Posture check · Group Policy
Group Policy grants administrator-equivalent rights to a lower-tier account (T1078.002)
This policy grants a right equivalent to administrator, such as debugging programs or backing up files, to an account outside Tier 0 or to a broad group.
Why it matters
Holders of these rights can read memory, files or credentials on every computer the policy applies to.
How GraphnAI finds it
It runs after every sync, on each connected domain or tenant on its own. It applies to Active Directory.
It reads:
- The directory attributes
gPLink,gPOptions, flags, userAccountControl, accountEnabled, distinguishedNameandobjectSid - The Group Policy files the Identity Bridge reads from SYSVOL
- The privilege tier classification
- Asset criticality
Tiered Fidelity™ level: Theoretical
Every finding from this check carries the Theoretical level.
- TheoreticalThis checkConfigured in the directory. Nothing else checked.
- ConstrainedA constraint on it has been checked.
- ValidatedTelemetry has seen it in use.
Why there's no automatic fix
GraphnAI can't edit Group Policy settings. Change this setting in Group Policy Management.
How to fix it
Remove the account or group from the right in this policy's user rights assignment.
